Rail Sites

Harnett County is served by two major rail lines, Norfolk Southern and CSX.  There are sites of varying size and quality adjacent to these rail lines.  Two major Tran’s loads sites exist in the county.  One in Lillington and one on 401 North near Chalybeate Springs.  The growth in rail service means more locations are needed to serve industry. Key rail sites are listed below, with more under development.

The Mastin Baker Site is a 261-acre property located off of US Highway 401. The Norfolk Southern rail line runs down the western edge of the property. This predominantly flat site is only 40 miles Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
