Brightwater Science and Technology Campus & Park
![]()
Brightwater, a mixed-use medical and business park in Lillington, draws its name from the county's abundant water resources. Lillington, the second largest city in Harnett County, is located along the Cape Fear River between the Raleigh-Durham region, home to the Research Triangle Park, and Fayetteville, home to Fort Bragg.
Brightwater is situated across the street from Harnett County's government center on US Highway 401. The site has a traffic count of 26,000 cars per day, a figure that is expected to double by 2035. Highway 401 is expanding through Lillington to include traffic lights into Brightwater. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Harnett County is the third fastest growing county in NC and one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, growing at 3.2% between 2007 and 2008.
The Campus is home to Central Harnett Hospital and Central Carolina Community College's new training center. Harnett Health Invetors LLC is under construction and several other tenants should be named in the near future.
The Brightwater Business Park across the street is home to First Choice CHC and will soon see the construction of East Carolina University's dental facility, one of 9 being built across the state. The Park is within the city limits of Lillington and has room for additional tenants.
