Four non-profit, 501c3 organizations work tirelessly with the county Economic Development office to enhance opportunities for growing the economy in the county. The Harnett Forward Together Committee was created and its Board has representatives from the other non-profit Boards and from across the county. The Edgerton Industrial Park Board works tirelessly in the Erwin & Dunn area. The Western Harnett Industrial Park Board directs the activities of the West Harnett Industrial Park and interests in the western part of the county. The Brightwater Board will take over responsibility of the Brightwater Science & Technology Campus and Brightwater Business Park from the Harnett Forward Together Committee at the appropriate time allowing HFTC to seek other development avenues.
