Non-Profit Partners for Economic Development

Four non-profit, 501c3 organizations work tirelessly with the county Economic Development office to enhance opportunities for growing the economy in the county. The Harnett Forward Together Committee (HFTC) was created in 1994 to assist the county with economic development efforts.  The Board has two representatives from every district of the county some of whom are Board members on non-profits working in their district to aid in growth. The Edgerton Industrial Park Board works tirelessly in the Erwin & Dunn area. The Western Harnett Industrial Park Board directs the activities of the West Harnett Industrial Park and interests in the western part of the county. The Brightwater Board will take over responsibility of the Brightwater Science & Technology Campus and Brightwater Business Park from the Harnett Forward Together Committee at the appropriate time allowing HFTC to seek other development avenues. All four non-profits are served by volunteers eager to see growth and economic prosperity throughout the county.
